Product Description

The Real Fyre G31 creates a fire across three burner levels, with flames above the logs and a glowing ember bed below. This match-lit version suits a fireplace where you want to light the burner by hand rather than use a pilot or remote-control system.

Fitment and Ordering Notes

These models use natural gas only and cannot be field-converted to another fuel. They are supplied without a valve, and the gas log set is purchased separately.

Choose an approved Real Fyre log set and check the fireplace requirements for that specific burner and log-size combination. A larger log set can require a wider fireplace even when it uses the same burner.

Installation and service must be performed by a qualified professional. This system is for a solid-fuel-burning fireplace with a working flue. The chimney damper and any glass doors must be fully open during operation. Do not burn wood in the fireplace with this system installed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add extra embers or use the embers supplied with my logs?

Use only the embers supplied with the burner system. The manufacturer directs installers to discard embers packaged with the log set and warns that adding extra embers can cause unsafe operation. Lava granules and lava coals belong on the fireplace floor around the front and sides, not on or behind the burner.

Installation Notes

Installation and repair must be performed by an NFI Certified or other qualified professional installer. The following summarizes the manufacturer’s sequence and does not replace the complete manual.

  • Have the chimney flue, damper, and firebox cleaned and inspected. Confirm the fireplace floor is level and smooth, and verify the fireplace dimensions, gas type, supply pressure, and required ventilation.
  • Permanently install the supplied damper clamp. If it cannot provide the required permanent opening, have the damper modified as directed in the manual.
  • Turn off the fireplace gas supply. Remove the supply-stub cap without allowing the stub to turn or loosen its connection inside the wall.
  • Attach the small flex-connector adapter to the burner’s underside nipple using the specified gas-resistant pipe compound. Secure the flex connector to the adapter.
  • Center the burner from left to right in the fireplace. Keep the porcelainized front panel clean.
  • With the gas still off, attach the larger adapter to the supply stub, then connect the flex connector. Tighten the connections securely.
  • Have the installer perform the manual’s leak-test procedure using an appropriate soapy-water solution. Never use a flame to check for leaks. Turn the gas off before continuing.
  • Spread the supplied lava granules around the front and sides of the burner, then add the lava coals over them. Do not place lava media on or behind the burner.
  • For G31-33/39, install the log locators only when required by the selected log set’s instructions.
  • Position the logs, glowing embers, and Bryte Coals using the correct illustrated sequence. MCO/MCS sets and the other listed log families use different placement instructions. Keep the flash tube clear, leave the reflective panel uncovered, and do not add extra embers.
  • Complete log placement using the instructions for the specific log set. Use a fireplace screen during operation, keep glass doors fully open, and never leave the burner operating unattended.

Condition of Returns: Items must be properly packaged to prevent damage. If a product is returned damaged or appears used, the return may be refused and the item shipped back to you at your expense.
