The Twin Eagles 12-inch stainless steel hex cooking grate is a 3/8" thick hexagon cooking grate, the flat surface of the hexagon rods allows for more food-to-surface contact (over round cooking grates) and they retain more heat thus allowing your food to cook more evenly.
